Comprised of multi-percussionist, Chuck Wood, of New Jersey, and guitarist / vocalist, Colin Allured, of North Carolina, Dhamaru represents an uplifting new voice on the world music stage. With deep bows to African, Latin American, and Indian classical traditions, as well as, natural western influences of rock and jazz. Dhamaru has been on the leading edge of the live music scene that is sweeping yoga communities, the NIA movement, ecstatic dance classes, and holistic festivals nationwide. When accompanying a yoga or movement class Dhamaru creates an integral flow that is sensitive to the pace led by the instructors, and becomes an intimate part of the participants practice. They mix ancient rhythms, acoustic and electric sounds, and stirring mantras with modern flavors that vary in intensity to create a unique inspirational experience which will delight any fan of world music or enhance any yoga or spiritual practice. Dhamaru's music will leave recipients feeling energized, refreshed, and healed in body, mind, and soul.
